Monthly Simlit Short Story Challenge – May 2019 AND the Winners are …

This was a tight month In both categories.  In the veteran’s catagory, the winner was decided by one vote in the last few hours (we had a 3-way tie for first all day).  And as for the novices .. well you will see when you get to that part! It was tight all month but I literally gasped when I opened the poll for the final tally.

To me, this is a true testimony of the caliber of scribblers involved.  What an awesome job!

To the readers who invested the time to read and vote, we honestly thank you for your support.  This is a FAB group of writers and you are an encouragement to them!

  1. Congratulations to all the winners! I am stunned. Totally stunned for winning 1st place in the Veteran category. Thank you so much to everyone who read my story and voting for The Mother’s Day Tea. I am truly honored. What happened to all the ties? So, so many good stories for May. Each story was a winner to me as I enjoyed them all. Congrats again to all the winners and congrats to everyone who entered. And thank you again to Lisabee for hosting this challenge.

  2. Wow—a sincere congratulations to all the winners (excluding myself! That’s tacky)! I’m honored to be up on that leaderboard, but know the results would be different if the set of voters or the day changed; that’s how deserving all the stories were. Still, it’s an honor for someone without a dedicated readership! Thank you!

To all participants and voters, thank you for being a part of this amazing and supportive community. Keep being your bad selves. That goes triple for you, Lisabee!

    1. There’s kudos to you because you stepped up the promo and I gave you the far and wide award when I found you in Reddit … excellent job on the story and for taking charge of your own story. It is not tacky to believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself your readers will not either. Good job!

      1. Thank you for that! The automod initially removed my post because it was a new account, so hopefully that should go smoother next round.

And I do believe in myself; my unusual prose style should be taken as proof. The intent was to acknowledge everyone else’s efforts rather than to self-deprecate. Hooray for everyone else, and also me!

  3. Congratulations to all the winners and entrants! It was a joy reading so many wonderful and diverse stories! I’m absolutely blown away, winning joint first prize with such talented writers. Someone needs to pinch me…
Thank you for inspiring me to start my blog, Lisa. Xx
