Rules or special considerations:

This is a forum-based challenge.  In the spirit of that please keep your entries FAMILY FRIENDLY and safe for work.  This means NO adult mods, NO adult themes, and NO language.  If you feel that language is an integral part of your story feel free to either use the word “plum” or redact it “S**T.”   Some of you may feel very restricted by this but let me remind you that this will go out across all social media platforms and we cannot control who might see it when.

This is an international competition and some will be writing in their second language so BE KIND!

You can write as many short stories as you wish but only one can be entered for the challenge vote.

Reminder:

  • Participants ARE ALLOWED – even encouraged to let their readers know that they are participating in the challenge …  growing our skills AND our community IS the POINT of all of this.
  • BUT here is the caveat, their readers MUST be encouraged to read all entries and vote in accordance with instructions.  This instruction must be CLEARLY stated by the participant when their readers are informed.

In MOST instances the voting will look like this:

  • Readers will be asked to vote for their top 3 choices in both categories (6 votes total).
  • Any vote received that does not contain 3 votes for each category will be thrown out.
  • This is run thru my blog so I assure you that I will diligently watch the stats. NO ONE will be unfairly targeted, bullied or shunned.

  1. Oh my llama! I laughed when I read the theme. This is a favorite word of mine (when one has or has had teenagers and/or works with them, whinging is a frequent occurrence), and I immediately know about whom I’ll write this month’s story!

    1. I have always loved her every once in a while Jes does a story that revolves around a word … it’s just so much fun to see the word played out. I can’t wait to see how people interpret it because it can go so many ways!
